WHO WE ARE

Blakeney Youth Club has been running since 1966. It aims to provide a safe and engaging space for young people to meet, socialise, have fun and to grow in confidence and self esteem. We provide activities that are chosen and led by young people from the local area. You don't need to be from Blakeney to attend and we are always ready to welcome new faces to our Club!

The success of the youth club and our ability to provide a fun, engaging space for local young people depends on the energy and commitment of volunteers. We are always looking for passionate and committed local people to help our club youth leader run sessions for young people. We need a roster of local volunteers to ensure that sessions are adequately supervised. You do not need previous experience of working with young people and we will provide you with training to help you feel comfortable in your role. Willing volunteers will also need to pass the relevant safeguarding checks.

Trustees are vital for the oversight and administration of youth club affairs. They ensure that the club is viable and complies with all relevant legislation. We need trustees from all walks of life who can use the experience and skills to ensure that the youth club is running for another 60 years! There are 4 routine meetings a year and trustees will be expected to assist from time to time with other ad hoc administrative tasks. If you think this sounds like something that you might be able to help with please do get in touch with blakeneyyouthclub@gmail.com

OUR SESSIONS

Working with Forest Voluntary Action Form, we run Youth Club sessions for young people in school years 6-13 (~10-18 years old) on Tuesday evenings from 6-8pm. Sessions cost £1 with the first session free. This is an opportunity for young people to meet up with friends or make new ones and take part in activities such as table tennis, air hockey, pool, arts and crafts and cooking. We'd love to know what other activities our members would like so encourage everyone to make suggestions and we'll do our best!

Sportily also run sports and games sessions at the club on Wednesday afternoons in term time for children in school years 3-7 between 1630 to 1745. Again, a £1 donation per session is suggested.
